Onmi directed me to this corner of the internet, where there's an a working FE engine!

I want to expand on the class and skill systems myself, but I currently have to acclimate myself to ruby. I'll be doing requests for klok to help that with that and supply the changes and notes I make about classes/sections here.

=====
1)Create a script command to change audio inside a cutscene.

I have a rough command, "\z," that stops the current Audio and plays what you specify. It can be used more then once in the same text file. Your song names must not have spaces in them however.

http://pastebin.com/JUG6UhUe

2.)Basically, anything in the panorama folder will have "Namehere_1" and "Namehere_2", with the 1 and 2 telling the game to load the appropriate zoom level. Then, when I call up the panorama with the appropriate name, it'll load whichever one is used for the correct zoom level.

Current plan for this is to the find the method that returns the current res/"zoom" level and add a check into the cgi display/call method.

Now if I could work on this for more then a few minutes in the week we'd be golden.

Oh, another scripter? That's cool, we can always need new scripters...

Audio command is usable anywhere and can have a song specified. It can be called more then once in the same text file. A version of the command that memorizes the old bgm could be useful?

Bug: spaces in the song names tripping it up. (why are songs the only assets with spaces? spaces are bad)
Bug: "Comanions" refuses to play via this command. Every other song I've tried works. Renaming does not help.

I've never heard of the song Comanions. Otherwise everything sounds good! Is the script in the OP updated to the newest version?

It's in the Audio\BGM folder in the Kloks FEXP Revisions version.

The pastebin link should be the latest version yes. If it messes up let me know.

Question: does anyone know where the CGI display call is? it'd save me the trouble of looking for it

I am about to get my net pass in a day or two, I'll have more time to get on when that happens, but right now I'm hella busy. I'm glad you got an audio command working, this fills me with hope! I don't have FEXP available so I can't help you at all aside from memory, and I'm a bit busy to recall off the top of my head ATM. I'll get back to you later on that stuff.

It was worth asking at least. Searching for what I want is a quarter of the work it seems.

I've probably read all the scripts at least once in their entirety, and that's over 40,000 lines... it ain't a cakewalk xD

Also, CGI's are probably going to be handled in a script with "picture" in the title or something xD

I thought Klok was going to post this, but I guess he didn't.

Could you do some command skills?

Lol I meant you should ask on Yeti's forum.

Life, cat on fire on stove, comet of bad omen, etc, etc.

Which skills were you think of?

All kinds of command skills, I guess. I'm (hopefully) looking more for examples, so something like a skill that does a different amount of damage or changes combat stats somehow (let's say you use it and target an enemy, and it raises your critical and decreases your hit); something you just use on the map (let's stay with the raising critical and decreasing hit, for one turn); and of course, there's the creating of a unit that Klok will eventually want Summoners to do.

And sorry if I'm requesting too much stuff, but also could you look at the battle face scripts and make it show a face for when you're using a staff? Combat2 and Staff2 have annoyingly little in common there.

make it show a face for when you're using a staff?
What exactly do you mean by this, and is it something absolutely necessary to implement?

No, hardly anything in my game is absolutely necessary. That's kind of the point XD
But basically like how when you attack, it shows face 2, I want it to show face 4 when you heal.

ALSO something more relevant and actually necessary for me but generally less-useful for everyone else: I want to make it so that when a weapon/item (or only weapon) reaches 0 uses, it doesn't disappear from your inventory. It just says it has 0 uses, and you can't fight with it.

EDIT: Wait, why, do you need to pay PKL for each script? If so then I'll take back my requests xP

No I don't pay him for anything, unless it's a personally requested script of huge size, then I'd offer money as a courtesy like I always do. However, he's not an amazing scripter as he said in chat and I'd rather get the REALLY important stuff out of the way than the silly little things.

Hey Laureola, will this help you with doing zoom functions?

Code:
  def set_background
    @sprite = Sprite.new
    if $zoom >= 2
      begin
        @sprite.bitmap = RPG::Cache.title($data_system.title_name + "_2")
        @sprite.zoom_x = @sprite.zoom_y = 0.5
      rescue Errno::ENOENT
        @sprite.bitmap = RPG::Cache.title($data_system.title_name)
        @sprite.zoom_x = @sprite.zoom_y = 1
      end
    else
      @sprite.bitmap = RPG::Cache.title($data_system.title_name)
      @sprite.zoom_x = @sprite.zoom_y = 1
    end
  end

A little something Yeti wrote for me for title screen zooming. Can you configure it for other types of zooming?

CT075

you could probably do that for yourself by altering the

Code:
Cache.title($data_system.title_name + "_2")

attribute
