told you guys Scion might post eventually

I'm not gonna critique it any more than I did in chat. Let's see if anyone else can spot errors without being spoon-fed the thoughts you and I had.

I like everything but the cape-thingy.

It LOOKS like the cape kinda just sticks up, and unless it's a very tough, uncomfortable cape, I don't believe it's physics would function that way.

If it's for a hood of some sort, it still should be reduced a bit. Right now it looks like something Count Dracula would wear.

This is Melissa, a new character for BOE.

And this is my attempt of making a critical animation for her, can anyone gimme a hand ?

The blur is awful and the transition when she erases the circle is too sudden. A blur might fix that HOWEVER, my blurs suck bad T-T

PS.:
This is her normal atack sheet

Oh Yeah, I made some adjustments to the cape, this is how Clay looks now

Well, I took a look through some motion blur sprites, and it seems that what they all mostly have that you don't is some sort of general form.

FIRST: Look through some other magic user motion blurs, that might help a bit.

For example, on your motion blur sprite, it seems that you just used paints curve line tool to make the blur. That works more or less fine for swords and Axes, but not very well for robed arms.

Your best bet is to make a one or two point blur, IMO. That means you have one or two 'spikes' on the back end of the motion blur, making it look almost like a dragon wing. But, you manipulate the colors to look more like flapping fabric, as she has a robe on. In essence, it would look like 1-2 folds of cloth whistling through the air.

Also, I Don't know about you, but I like the use darker colors for the blur, but that's just me.

Lastly, don't be afraid to elongate the blur a bit, vertically, it looks like a semicircle because it is. But if you saw that exact movement in real life, if would look like a pirate going ARGH. I think most humans would dip a bit with that motion, but I could be wrong, here. EDIT: Yeah, the arm should dip at least a couple pixels more.

P.S. In the 'immortalized words of BwdYeti, 'Just redraw and redraw until it looks good.' -_-

I honestly don't very well know, but I hope at least one of these might help. Just remember to trust your instincts. If you don't like it, it's probably not very good to your eyes, and it'll be torture to see it happen repeatedly.
