I was being a perfectionist and such, so Klok locked my other thread. It was Klok blocked. So...I'm making a new one of mostly Fire Emblem stuff for now.

Current Project:

Wyvern.

My first relatively good mug, his name is Jared.

Some sort of weird priestess thing I did for some reason. I really liked scars back then...

Sort of a younger version of Oswin, but I saved as the wrong file type, effectively ruining it.

My absolutely terrible Vanguard sprite.

The whole revamp process of my old sprite to the better one.

Those Icons I made.

Random lame map I did for FEXP testing purposes.

Ok, now the more recent stuff, or stuff I really like.


Revamped Sprite of the bad one, Like it a ton more, etc etc.

Personal mug and battle sprites.

Random hero with no shield.

Random hero with no shield OR sword.

Eliwood with the Gigablade...I think it's about 5/6 of the way done.

Derp sprite. ZINGA!



AAAAAAND...That's it, I think. (For now, I'm working on like five other things.)

The FE theme actually sounds pretty nice, I like it.

And ya, definitely finish that wyvern sheet.

If you ever finished a riderless wyvern, it'd go great in Scions hack. His hack is set in Tantria after all, so it's be even better than I hope.

Great, as soon as I finish Jesse's project, I'll try to get on that.
But i got a project for Magix too, Guh.

Not a bad wyvern though the angle of the wings in a few places seems funky.

Oh, and I merged the wyvern topic in with this thread. I merged all of your old art topics together for a reason. Please, stop making new threads for your art projects.

Hmmmmmmm. It looks epic as hell, but I have a few issues. The final frame on row 3 doesn't look like it'll transition well with the first frame on row 4. Looks like an awkward switch, actually.

I see it like this: You have two options.

These frames just look odd as fuck. Cut those out, use this frame http://puu.sh/dpKX to replace them, skip to the last frame on row three, then use this frame http://puu.sh/dpLa for the rest of the attack. However, after that frame, I don't understand what is supposed to happen next. He leaps forward, and then... suddenly he's in the air? There's no real transition right there, that I can see, unless he's a magical teleporting wyvern.

On the other hand you could just cut out the one frame like you're thinking of doing. The fact remains though that there isn't really a transition between these frames here http://puu.sh/dpLW

Oh, I forgot to mention that.

After the motion blur frame, he shoots OFF the screen. Then, he comes BACK on the top, like he made a loop.

EDIT: So, I fixed it, uploaded the new version, and placed a black line to show the transition between those two frames that Klok didn't like.

Check the top of the thread for the new version.

Oh, crap.

I just realized that this entire sprite sheet is set to fit a bigger screen than a rom. MAYBE it would work for FEXP, but there is now way it'll fit on a GBA sized screen.

AND, Resizing it would make the entire thing look like shit.

So, my question is, is it possible to adjust a rom's screen size?

Or, better yet, is it possible to scroll the screen size, such as when using bolting from a long way away, only up and down? That would fix the problem as well...

Think of one animation that does that. Yeah, there aren't any. Now, if this is the same size as the original Wyvern Rider sheet, there really shouldn't be an issue... is it?

Well the sheet itself (All that green space) can be shrunk easily. The sprite itself looks just fine, IMO, but I'm no hacker. Maybe Prime knows, he's done this at least once before with his Baron class.

I don't think there's a size issue. They way you set it up for a ROM is save each frame individually. The frames are 248x160.

My concern is that a couple of the frames look like they might cause an OAM overflow. I.E. they'll use up more RAM than the ROM is capable of handling when the ROM tries to map out the frame.

Which frames are we talking about?

Because, in my approximation, the top of each 'frame' is 35 or so pixels over what will work.

I.E. http://puu.sh/duDh (This is the limit I think I can work with.

This is what I have for each frame: http://puu.sh/duDZ

There's a 34 pixel difference between what I have, and what appears to be the limit to the rom's size.

So, does the frame not have anything to do with the HUD? Can I make the frame 248 X 160 and not have the HUD block any of the animation?

Guh...this is so hard to explain...

The first picture I linked was the Distance from the top of the ROM's screen to the bottom pixel of a wyvern lord's beginning sprite. The black line represents the battle screens HUD position. The second picture was the distance of the top of my sprite to the bottom. In the bottom left corner, there is number telling you the distance from top to bottom.

See where my Baron is standing? The frame is actually the size of the GBA screen. Imagine the HUD around him and an enemy to the left.

Well, your sprite seems to use a lot of the Wyvern Lord's frames and the Wyvern Lord fit just fine.
