Well, I think there is a very good chance I'll be doing a program called Job Corps for the next 9ish months. This is what I would call a last resort, with the only other viable option I'd hate taking more, being the Army/branch of the military. Job Corps is a good program, but it has a lot of problems that I wish I didn't have to be a part of. However, my options grow thin. As much as I appreciate Patrick's offer to help me out financially, I don't want to grow dependant on other people nor do I want to take the money of other people.

Job Corps basically offers food, shelter, training, education, and money to people who enroll. There are some big downsides for me as an individual though, namely that computers are not allowed on-site. This means that I may not be in contact with my forum for weeks at a time, and I most definitely won't be working on FEPS or just about... ANYTHING. I hear that if you have good behavior though, you can get lighter restrictions on that sort of thing though, and many rules vary from campus to campus. The main reasons I want to pursue this is:

Hands-on training. You get trained in whatever fields are available at that campus that you would wish to join. For example, there is carpentry and culinary arts at the one I'm most strongly considering joining. There is also computer technician, but that class is popular and there are no openings currently.
Money. You get paid twice a month based on how much work you've done, what your grades are, and whether you have good behaviour or bad. In addition, upon graduation you recieve $1,200 and potentially a scholarship towards a school of your choosing. However, the retantion rate is a measly 20% therefore one might assume that Job Corps is not so good at holding people for the full duration.
Education. You can get a GED and a drivers license when you join Job Corps, but having them already is better. I have a GED but not a drivers license, so I would benefit from that.
Shelter. I get housing and food for living there. The food varies from place to place, but meals are meals are meals :| If the food sucks, I already have a food stamp card so, whatever.

Now for the bad parts.

Gangs. From what I've read online, sometimes a Job Corp facility will be infested with gangs and cliques, due to poor applicant screening and poor supervision. Whether that is the case at whichever one I attend or not is completely up to chance.
Rules. There are some pretty strict rules which may hinder me or may not. Mostly the computer and Cell phone rule is the one that bugs me most, so, we will see how that works out.
Early leave. Leaving before graduating (I think) makes it so you may never be in the program again. Also, you lose out on ALL bonuses from graduation that you might have recieved.

You also are not really allowed to leave the campus without permission during your stay there. That kinda sucks lol.

However, my options grow thin. Working a min wage job with little education is not helping myself for a long term life, so I need more education. It's either this, the Peace Corps (No ty) or the military. After weighing all the options, I'm gonna meet up with a representative from Job Corps tomorrow and discuss it with her and see if I qualify and ask all sorts of questions. I most likely will be joining, so, I'll keep you guys updated.

If you get paid, I advise investing in either this:

http://www.taser.com/promotion-c (or a stun gun at the very least.)

Or:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martial_arts - This.

I'm not kidding, either could make you life much easier if there are gangs and such on campus.

I do like that you've found another option. Best of luck to you my friend. We can manage without you, I think, so don't worry.
Besides,, there's a chance we'll see you soon, right?

But, uh...

To enroll in Job Corps, students must meet the following requirements:

Be at least 16 years of age, but no older than 24
Be a United States citizen or legal resident
Meet income requirements
Be ready, willing, and able to participate fully in an educational environment

Do you meet low income requirements?

Um, to qualify your income has to be lower than poverty level limit. Again:

You also qualify if you are

a) Homeless ("An individual who lacks a fixed, regular, adequate nighttime residence")

or

b) Food Stamps: Is a member of a household that receives or within the 6-month period prior to application was eligible to receive food stamps.

Pretty sure Tony meets all of these criteria, and the policies and requirements handbook says you only have to meet one of the criteria to qualify.

I'll ask again:
