SF Round 10. Pimp this FF map:
Spoiler:

My Entry:

Uses the Grado Keep tileset with some extra stuff I added.

@Darkblade: What you say makes sense and I'll look into it later when I'm feeling more motivated.

You don't have to believe me, but I would use that map if it were remade in THAT AWESOME GAME ENGINE THINGY. I know I've said that like a dozen times already and not delivered but I'm working on it.

Say hello to the map for the final chapter of The Road to Ruin (which actually isn't too far off now that I think about it). It's also my entry for the SF mapping comp. This round we're suppose to make a "final chapter" map.

I've got one for the SoS mapping comp too:

Rocking the Arcadia Temple tileset.

Those are cool and very non-linear.

On the SF map, I was about to say something about not having the southeast path be too horribly punishing, but then I noticed that the northwest could be more easily punishing than the southeast. (This is all assuming that you start in the southwest.)

As for the SoS map, very cool. If you start in the southeast, then that would mean two chests per path (hopefully the player would have two rogues), and an enemy rogue might appear on the southwest path, as well as that staircase that's two tiles away from tthe chest near the center of the map. It looks like it would be fun to play on.

And before long, Klauk's going to be asking if he can use one or both of those maps for his game.

Haha, taking bets for how long til he says so.

Anyway, my gripe for the SF map is that because of the chests the player will almost always go north. I want to try to balance both paths somehow but I'm not sure short of redoing the entire southeast side. And yes, the player will start in the southwest.

Oh ya, and an alternate version of the SoS map if you didn't like the cobblestone:

Not sure which two you're referring to, but if the tileset isn't in THAT AWESOME GAME ENGINE THINGY it's a hopeless request which I wouldn't make. Unless someone implemented the tileset, in which case there's a slight possibility.

^I really like that map. I would start the player in the bottom middle with 6-7 units, and on turn 2 have enemies spawn near each chest. I would also place enemies on some pillars to take advantage of terrain bonuses, and I would place three knights/lieutenants to guard the throne room with a couple cavaliers behind them to flank.

Boo.

Couple maps, this one is for the SF comp and it's a defend chapter map:

This one is for the SoS comp and it's a "big battle" map:

Those are nice. My turn to ask to borrow. If I can figure out how to import the tileset for that defend map, I'd like to use it. With your permission of course.

I've decided to revise the prologue of TRTR and made a new map to go with it.

Yeah I dig that map a lot more too. A bit smaller, and hopefully more options which = more fun? We'll see!
