Damn fucking straight he is. (I'll assume it's the arms since his waist is the same width as most male sprites, 8 pixels)

His arms are still too small, and not enough decoration...

He went to the gym. And you can tell I don't give a hoot about decoration mainly just anatomy.

Well then how about giving me some tips on how to make it less generic?

And which arm? The sword arm or the gauntlet arm?

Generic being no decoration at all. and the gauntlet arm.

Sometimes A little decoration helps improve the general effect.

To try to show you this, I endeavored to improve you basic design, making him, less generic, I think.

So, yours:
Mine with pallet:
For quick reference:

So you see, sometimes decoration CAN help improve your sprite.

Now sure, neither is perfect (My versions chest decor...), but you should get the general idea from this.

I'm not seeing how to fix the gauntlet arm. It's the sniper arm just flipped. It's supposed to be bent at the elbow.

I'm not sure I like the armor on yours. It looks like he just stepped out of the movie Tron. I like the sword though.

Edit:

But his had nice trim, even if you didn't like the decorations. Trim is important to make a sprite stand apart from the rest.
Also, ML, nice revamp. I liked the whole thing.

Thanks.
cheers

Also, this is how he looks with no trim:

Compare.

Lastly, If you want to fix the straight looking issue, you could try to fiddle with the waist.

Matter of opinion. I didn't like the trim and prefer his version without it. Decoration isn't everything.

You know, the gloved hand seems a little too small, and the sword looks weird, too.

Plus: MY SWORD DESIGN IS NOT TO BE USED BY A GUY WHO ASKS FOR ADVICE, THEN TAKES NO THOUGHT FROM IT, INSTEAD ACCUSING US OF NOT TELLING HIM WHAT TO DO, WHEN IN REALITY HE COULD JUST EXPERIMENT AND SUCH.

Ok, rants done.

Dont worry, you'll learn.

What in the world are you talking about? You said the arms were too small so I tried to make them bigger. You said the waist was too thin so I widened it. I changed the design of the sword anyway because I decided I didn't want a broadsword. If you're getting angry because I'm referencing what you told me to reference I could get angry at you for using my sprite as a base without permission.

My point is I didn't add trim because I didn't like the way it looked. Yet somehow this is ignoring advice (which is subjective at best anyway if you're talking about trim)?

Well, you could at least add something...more.

Plus, the left leg, my left, where it enters the boot, it just looks a little funky. Almost like the boot is too thin.

IDEA:
You should give him both arms massively armored, then put a big sword on his back.

Would look epic.

I'll fix the boot then. While I like your idea, I already have plans on how I want to animate this and the animation wouldn't make sense if I used your idea. =/

Heh, nice sprite. I like eet. Though the handle seems exceptionally small for such a large sword.

As for the animation idea, well I need to see if I can pull it off for first. The normal hit will be simple but for the critical I plan for him to use the animation they did for Astra in FE10 but faster (can't do the fancy slow down parts like in the original).

Uses the Grado Keep tileset with some extra stuff I added.

@Darkblade: What you say makes sense and I'll look into it later when I'm feeling more motivated.
