I thought your first soldier sprite was a FC/good edit? This one look like a recolor...

I like that shade of blue better, but the base sprite is absolutely undoubtedly the one supplied. IIRC 9>7.

Yes, that's it. But you can use a lighter shade of blue if you want. I could give Dude a unique palette that's more like that.

Also, note that my plan has changed slightly. There will be no motion blur. Rather, you'll have to make lots of intermediate frames. Have fun!

Aaaaand, I'm in agreement with ML. No motion blurs seems like a pretty arbitrary limit. All it does is cause more of a headache with less of a payoff.

I agree too. Motion blurs slice as many as 5-6 frames out of an animation and help make it look smoother overall. Not only that, but he'll be doing the work animating it, so you really don't have the right to tell him what to do, IMO.

ML is what, 14 now? I say I'm being lenient compared to how the actual industry goes in that I'm not putting a deadline over his head.

Buttt...

Motion blurs...well... I'm not totally sure how I can come up with words for arguing, so how's this: ML, as a starter, just grab a sword-user and XE-ify him. Leave motion blurs there if you want. Then I'll go experiment with it, mmkay?
