Can I get anybody to do the other map sprites in a similar style? They don't need to be perfect; I can always touch them up.

EDIT: Swordfighters (merc/myrm) are already being worked on, by the way.

I decided that today and tomorrow, after doing my work and stuff, I'm gonna pump a solid 5 or so hours into making a FEPS chapter to possibly be released. It's been a while since a completely new chapter, so this will be a lot of fun.

Maybe after that I could try a map sprite or two, but don't expect wonders.

That's Heri's map sprite while I was changing which hand he holds the axe in. I just found it entertaining and somewhat menacing (as much as a little sprite like that can be, which is to say, it fails)

Wow I'm so unimaginative and indecisive and terrible and lazy or something. I probably should've looked at a list of skills I have. This is obviously up for discussion and does not reflect the final class list. I mean, it doesn't even have unique T2 classes or monsters.

Also, the Flight skill is a Yeti addition, and in my opinion extremely retarded. I removed it in GW and replaced with Vantage, so that Pegasi would have actual fighting utility.

However, I then also made sure pegasi are pretty weak and fragile, so implement that too.



and yes these are pretty unimaginative and boring lol but it's your game

Okay, let's make a more helpful post.

Swordfighter-Consistent low damage, inconsistent high damage.
Hard counter to Axefighter because they'll be hard to hit thanks to WT and high avoid, plus their low damage doubled isn't bothered by low defense.
Soft counter to armors because they'll still be hard to hit, but won't deal much damage unless they critical.
Spearfighter-Balanced unit, general purpose.
Hardish counter to Swordfighter/Pegasus Knight because of WT and reasonably high defense.
Axefighter-Inconsistent high damage, high HP.
Hard counter to Spearfighters due to WT and damage that mostly bypasses defense
Soft counter to Mages because they can kill them before getting hit.
Soft counter to Knights due to WT.
Bowfighter-Consistent ranged damage.
Hard counter to Pegasus Knights because bows negate flying bonuses.
Soft counter to infantrymen due to WT and ranged attacks.
Pegasus Knight-Resistant flier. Uses swords!
Hardish counter to mages because they have high resistance.
Soft counter to axefighters because of WT, but Swordfighters deal more damage.
Knight-Guerilla mounted unit.
Soft counter to mages because of WT and having more attack range due to movement.
Armor-Defensive wall.
Hard counter to spear/bow fighters due to not taking much damage from them and sometimes WT
Very soft counter to swordfighter/pegasus knights because the Armor won't take much damage, but will have trouble hitting. Better used to stall.
Thief-Utility unit, not for fighting.
Mage-Glass cannon.
Hard counter to armors because they bypass defense entirely.
Soft counter to bowfighters/thieves due to WT
Cleric/Troubadour-Healer, duh. Strong to nothing, weak to everything.

As far as mages go, just follow the WT to see counters.

I think I may have reverse-engineered these based on the stats I have in mind for the classes, which somewhat defeats the purpose of doing this, though <_<

Yeah some of these make no sense. Why would a pegasi EVER be a soft counter to axemen? (Unless they have swords I guess... I didn't think of that...)

Do mages only come in one type, or are there multiple magic types? Like light, dark, anima, etc.

For the pegasi, are you going to use that sheet made by that one guy on SF for romhacking, or are you making your own frames since you know a thing or two about battle spriting.

I'm going to make my own, of course. I need to make several animations per class anyway, so making my own from the start will help things be consistent.

Okay guys, I am absolutely clueless with battle platforms. So far for plains I have


But that's all I've had for quite some time, and they're not even done. I think?
Should I even have battle platforms? Or, like... Ugh, I don't know what grass looks like, or trees, or bushes... NES games aren't a good example because they'll just have one or two flat repeating patterns, and newer games with more memory have too complex graphics.
Really, I need help here =/
