Nonononono he's DEFINITELY still doing PS. He better be. He just supports XE since it was partially based on his idea (And he unintentionally named the entire playable cast)

Those.

It looks like NES style animations (Slightly better in some ways, yet very unique!) and it also has a good flow to it.

Sure...should be smple enough. All i have trouble with is shading and details. Take them away, and ill be fine.
Almost exactly what I said to Charlotte haha!

Currently remaking EVERY FEGBA mug so I can easily splice them, and boy it's taking forever.

I may as well just splice what I want and take color out of it. Heck, I think that's what I'll do.

EDIT: @Klauk: "like NES"? Tee-hee... Erm, anyway, so should spells have reduced colors and stuff, too? Or should they be INSTANT OMEGA QUALITY SPIKE WITH TRANSPARENCY

(Note: Shadows will be semitransparent)

Let's worry about spells later. I need to observe some NES style spells to get an idea of what to go for, and maybe having high quality spell animations would be nice? We'll see XD

@Rin: Okey! Effects won't come for a while, though. First I need to see how battle sprites look in action. Though it's possible that the special effects will be really simple (EG an orange beam with a red outline)

@Liam: Why? She's not really that good. While some of her sprites look impressive, those Laguz are actually just spliced from existing FE sprites and not even shaded that well. And her FE sprites have weird shading and lots of inconsistencies.

As for her art, well, it's not bad, I guess, but those outlines.. I didn't even know they could do that XD
But the shading is pretty nice, especially on clothes. But XE's world is devoid of shading, so why would "official" art need shading? =/

Say, what should I do for weapon icons? Like, should I have a 5-color palette for the entire armory?

No...keep the weapons the same. If its line art, they still look like people, so why bother changing the the colorset? If it was stick figures, it'd be different, but...

Huh? Um, yeah, that's the general idea, I guess, but not exactly. It looks like you just used the recolor tool on it, which will be fine for the sheet, but it makes his spear look weird. Also, his pants have two colors. No, wait, three.

That would make a good promoted soldier, we're working on unpromoted right now xP
EDIT: Or Dude's personal sprite.

I'm a little unsure about the gold trim, though. It certainly gives it a feeling of, erm, [insert TVTrope here], but it's so impractical... Maybe steel trim? XD
That can be worried about later, though.

Also, have you seen the windowskins and stuff? EVERYTHING's getting cut down in color once I get to it. It's just a matter of by how much.

Partially. Liam's version has a different spear(pally to be exact), and the FE8 Wyvern Knight head.

@Jesse: Yeah, the helmet I noticed. But I wouldn't use it anyway; nobody in XE's gonna wear helmets.


Does Swift (the guy in the bottom-left) have too much shading/black outline-ness?

Simple FX is fine, I can handle that easily. Razz

And I wouldn't mind doing any 'official' art. :3 I'm in an artsy, as of late...

Should I just take out the dark areas of his clothes, or should I also remove the lines from his cloak?

And the same for the second Dude. Should I make his armor have less black shadows?

EDIT: Say, wait, could you do an 8-bit-looking title screen?

Just take out the excessive amount, the lines on his cloak should be fine.

Those shadows seem pretty good where they are.

I'll try my best. xD Just make a rough draft of how it should look, and I'll get to work.

So a couple things: The X has a [fancy] spear going through it, the thing on the bottom is a [fancy] sword, the I is a xiao (Google it. The flute) and I guess the O could be a flower or some random design or maybe just an O if that doesn't work.

I guess the EMBLEM could have some design behind it, you can do whatever there. Maybe the words could be similar to in the FEBGA games? With less colors, of course.

In general, though, keep it simple and similar to 8-bitness. You can shade and stuff, but minimally, and I'd rather not see any antialiasing. But I'm sure it'll be fine xP

Oh, and that PRESS START or whatever shouldn't be in the actual thing. I'm just pointing out where on the screen it is.

If you want specific designs for the spear and sword, well, I can make some smaller sprites to show you.
